Harvest moved to usage-based pricing: a per-seat price plus fees that grow with your
active projects, tasks, clients, and invoicing. For project-based firms, that ties the
software bill to the very things a busy studio produces more of.
Decent Billing takes the other approach: simple seat-based pricing, and a product built
specifically for architecture, engineering, and creative firms — covering the whole billing
lifecycle from projects, time, and expenses through review and invoices ready for
QuickBooks.

The facts first
What changed with Harvest's pricing
Through late 2024, Harvest sold flat per-seat plans with no usage fees. In early 2026 it
introduced its current lineup: two plans, Teams and Enterprise, priced per seat, plus
usage-based fees on five measures — active projects, active tasks, active clients,
invoices created, and amount invoiced. As of August 2026, Teams is $9 per seat per month
billed annually ($11 billed monthly) and Enterprise is $14 per seat per month billed
annually ($17.50 billed monthly), with usage fees charged on top. An Unlimited option
replaces the usage fees with one flat fee: $1,900 per month on monthly billing, or $1,583
per month on annual billing.
Each Harvest plan carries this fine print: “Your base rate includes core features. As
your team grows, additional invoices, projects, clients, and tasks are billed based on what
you use, so you’re never overpaying.” Existing accounts move to the new pricing
at renewal, in batches Harvest controls — its help center states a move can’t be
delayed or, once made, reversed.
Notably, the per-seat price went down compared with the previous Pro plan. What
changed is the usage fees added on top — so whether a team’s total goes up
depends on its activity. To estimate your own firm’s number, use our free

Two pricing philosophies
Usage-based vs. seat-based, for a project-based firm
Usage-based The bill follows your activity
Under Harvest's Flex pricing, active projects, tasks, clients, invoices, and the amount
invoiced each carry their own fee tier. Studios juggling many small projects and phases
can land in higher tiers even with a small team, and the total shifts with each billing
period's activity.
Seat-based The bill follows your team
Decent Billing prices by seat. The price follows your headcount, not your project
count, so a busy month of projects, phases, and invoices doesn't change your software
bill — which makes it predictable to budget as the studio grows.
More than time tracking
The whole billing lifecycle, built for firms like yours
Projects & time Projects, phases, and daily time tracking
Projects, phases, retainers, and initial deposits set up before the first hour is logged, with lightning-fast timekeeping the team keeps up with.
Expenses Expenses and markups, in the same system
Reimbursables, transit, and expense markups captured against the right phase — no separate expense tool to reconcile at invoice time.
Review Billing review before accounting
Catch missing time, move work to the right phase, and resolve billing questions with the team before anything is handed to accounting.
Billing rules Progress billing and firm-specific rules
Percentage complete, milestones, deposits, and mixed billing rules are part of the workflow, so the invoice can follow the contract.
Invoices Invoices ready for QuickBooks
Progress, hourly, reimbursable, and retainer invoices, prepared in one place and sent to QuickBooks in one step.
Reporting Reporting across the whole studio
Utilization, realization, and what's ready to bill — one login for the timesheet, the invoice, and everything in between.
Switching is our job, not yours
We bring your Harvest data over for you
Moving billing systems mid-year is the part firms dread, so we do it for you. Onboarding
help is free, and that includes bringing your data over from Harvest — the same way we
help firms coming from Monograph, Toggl, BQE Core, or Clockify. Your projects and
history come with you, and your team can be set up in an afternoon.
Then try it on your own work: the trial runs 45 days, needs no credit card, and gives you
enough billing cycles to see review, rules, and invoice prep working in one place. Curious
