Decent Billing Privacy Policy
Version 1.3. Effective date: June 2, 2026
Overview
Decent Billing provides billing, timekeeping, expense, invoice preparation, and related workflow tools for professional-services firms. This policy explains how we collect, use, and protect information when people visit our website, request a demo, create an account, use the application, or connect third-party services.
Information We Collect
We collect account and contact information such as names, email addresses, company names, roles, and login details. When customers use the product, we process billing workflow data such as clients, projects, phases, time entries, expenses, invoices, notes, uploaded documents, and settings.
If a customer connects an outside service, such as Google, accounting software, or another work system, we process the information needed to provide that integration. We also collect technical information such as device, browser, log, diagnostic, and security information.
How We Use Information
We use information to provide and improve Decent Billing, authenticate users, operate customer accounts, prepare billing workflows, support integrations, respond to support requests, monitor security, prevent abuse, and comply with legal obligations.
We may also create, derive, compile, analyze, use, disclose, publish, and otherwise process aggregated, anonymized, or de-identified information for analytics, research, product improvement, benchmarking, marketing, promotion, customer proof, and other lawful business purposes, where the information does not identify and cannot reasonably be used to identify a customer, business, user, client, employee, contractor, individual, project, invoice, time entry, expense, work log, client record, or other specific business record.
How We Share Information
We do not sell personal information. We share information with service providers only as needed to operate Decent Billing, including hosting, storage, authentication, analytics, email, support, and integration providers. We may also disclose information if required by law, to protect Decent Billing or our users, or as part of a business transaction such as a merger, acquisition, or financing.
We may disclose, publish, or otherwise share aggregated, anonymized, or de-identified information for business purposes, including analytics, benchmarking, industry reports, marketing, promotion, public website claims, presentations, and customer proof, where the information does not identify and cannot reasonably be used to identify you, your business, your users, your clients, your employees, your contractors, any individual, any project, any invoice, any time entry, any expense, any work log, any client record, or any other specific business record.
Google User Data
When a user connects a Google account, Decent Billing uses Google data only to provide the requested product functionality, such as sign-in or connected workflow features. We do not sell Google user data, use it for advertising, or allow humans to read it except when necessary for support, security, legal compliance, or with the customer's permission.
Data Retention
We retain information for as long as needed to provide the service, meet legal and accounting obligations, resolve disputes, enforce agreements, and maintain security. A customer may request deletion of account data, subject to contractual, legal, and operational retention requirements.
Aggregated, anonymized, or de-identified information may be retained and used after account closure, deletion, or termination, provided it does not identify and cannot reasonably be used to identify you, your business, your users, your clients, or any individual.
Security
We use reasonable technical and organizational safeguards designed to protect information. No internet or storage system is perfectly secure, but we work to limit access to customer data and protect it against unauthorized access, loss, misuse, or alteration.
Your Choices
Users may request access, correction, export, or deletion of their information by contacting us. Customers can also disconnect integrations where supported by the product or by the connected provider.
If you do not agree to Decent Made's use of aggregated, anonymized, or de-identified information for marketing, benchmarking, customer proof, or similar business purposes, you should not use Decent Billing, or you must notify Decent Made in writing at support@decentbilling.com. Unless and until Decent Made confirms in writing that your account has been excluded from this use, your continued use of Decent Billing means you accept this Privacy Policy and the related Terms of Service provision.
Changes
We may update this policy from time to time. If we make material changes, we will update the effective date and provide notice when appropriate.
